Artist Profile<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le Thi Truong was born in Saigon, Vietnam. In 1975, she moved to the United States and currently resides in Church Hill, North Carolina. She holds a Master of Arts degree from Mills College and teaches at the Department of Art and Art History at the Chapel Hill campus of the University of North Carolina. Her artistic practice, which spans painting, textiles, and installations, continuously connects her experiences as a refugee from Vietnam, her family memories, and the history of cross-cultural visuality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Artistic Concepts<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She places painting, military, textiles, food, and art history within the same narrative framework, asking how aesthetic forms can contain norms and power. Migration, colonization, assimilation, and resistance are not single themes; they are intertwined between familial memories, religious imagery, trade routes, and sensory experiences, rewriting the complex conditions of identity formation and resisting the obliteration of experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Main Materials, Manufacturing Processes, and Technologies<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drawing as her foundation, she often juxtaposes oil paint, acrylic, and hand-painted silk on supports such as linen, canvas, or wood panels, and adds materials such as thread, gold paint, smoke marks, black salt, and paper flowers to her works according to the project. Her work emphasizes the transition between painting, layering, silk painting, embroidery, and screen printing, allowing the images, textures, and textile structures to interpenetrate with each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4.
